Terms of Use
Last updated: September 24, 2026
These terms apply to the Rate The Court app and the website ratethecourt.com. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
Who can use Rate The Court
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You're responsible for activity on your account, so keep access to your email secure.
What you can post
You can add courts and post reviews, ratings, comments and photos. Everything you post must be honest and based on your own experience. Don't post:
- courts that don't exist, are in the wrong place, or are on private property that isn't open to players;
- fake, paid or misleading reviews, or reviews of a place you haven't been;
- other people's personal information, or photos where people can be identified without their permission;
- harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, or anything illegal;
- spam, ads or links promoting a business.
Verification and moderation
New courts, reviews and photos are checked by a moderator before they appear; courts are also checked against satellite imagery. We may edit a listing's location or details for accuracy. We may reject, hide or remove any listing, review or photo, and suspend or close accounts that break these terms, at our discretion. You can report content from the app, and you can block users whose reviews you don't want to see.
Your content
You own what you post. You give Rate The Court a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce and adapt it (for example, resizing photos) to run and promote the app and website. This license ends when your content is deleted, except for court listings, which remain available to other players.
Play at your own risk
Court information and reviews come from players and can be out of date or wrong. Conditions, hours, access and safety change. Use your own judgment, follow posted rules, and respect property owners. Rate The Court isn't affiliated with the parks, schools, clubs or owners of the courts listed, and doesn't guarantee that any court is open, safe or available.
Ad-free upgrade
The optional one-time ad-free "Supporter" purchase is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play and is subject to their terms and refund policies. It removes ads and supports the project; it doesn't change what you can post or see.
Disclaimers and limits
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Rate The Court isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for injuries, losses or disputes arising from courts listed, content posted by users, or your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, if any.
Changes and ending use
We may update these terms, and we'll change the date above when we do. You can stop using Rate The Court and delete your account at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA.
